New Sketches

I just updated my site with some new sketches. You'll notice my style changes quite a bit from one drawing to another. I feel sketches give me an opportunity to try new techniques, styles, and subjects. The bike, "Pinkie", wasn't rendered as clean as I had hoped, but I was focusing more on my composition. The next illustration I did was a random assortment of items within my office. I wanted to create something quick and loose. If I had I put more thought into it before hand I would have eliminated the outlines on the objects. My last sketch I chose to create from my head. I believe too often I reference other art and images as inspiration for my own work. However, make no mistake about it, I most definitely looked at my own hands to draw the hands on my character.
